This is an interior shot of one of the student's California mission projects. It's darn near perfect for 28mm figs. This model reminds me that I really, really need to game soon. Zogorion - Lord of the Hippogriffs by Jason Sholtis is a thing of beauty, a throwback to the days when dudes armed themselves with long-arm staplers, some stamps, heads full of ideas and furious pens. As I read it, I played some Minor Threat because it just seemed so damned punk rock to me and I needed appropriate background music. Jason, all I can say is, "I love it and PLEASE WRITE MORE!"

As I inch forward in the creation of my hex crawl, I have to constantly remind myself to keep the focus tight, to not dwell on anything beyond the horizon. It's so easy for me to get mired in the creation of details that will never be used in play.

The ivy in my median was cut back, poisoned, then dug up. The area has been re-planted with lilies, lavender and lantanas.

Yet the ivy stubbornly persists.

It lurches and creeps skyward from unknown depths. Every few months I must engage in fierce combat, hacking and cleaving until it is weakened and forced to retreat. The ivy reminds me that as a DM I must always mind what's beneath the PCs' feet, because whatever is down there never rests.
