Legends of Gath #58; The Return of the Queen

Fear not! Poppy has come to save Gath and to save us all. In the earliest iteration of Gath, Poppy was the only comprehensible form that the Angel of the Lord could assume. All other forms visible to humans caused mass death, mutation and frothing anger. It's better this way.

Any of you doubters should take note of the fact that Poppy predicted this whole mess exactly three years before the shelter in place order came down in So. Cal. Scoreboard!

  1. It's a simple encounter, but a worthwhile one I think.

    1. Thank you. :) I was thinking about you tonight, wondering how you were faring in this curious west coast existence we have on our hands.

    2. It's been a quiet day. I'm a little miffed that this month seems to be already almost over, I would have liked to have been able to savor it a bit more. Temperatures are already dropping toward freezing at night up here. My ballot is in and verified, so I am trying to ignore the last minute campaigning. I've been working on a fantasy story that is helping to move me toward a larger fantasy that I've had in mind, and spent all yesterday (uh, Thursday) doing worldbuilding about it. I might also put together a short campaign in the setting, which could help flesh it out even more.

I had a kidney stone earlier this month, which was no fun, but everything is back to normal now. Thanks to working from home, I hardly leave the house these days, which doesn't bother me much considering that even though most people around here are good about it, there's still a lot of people who haven't figured out that masks and social distancing will get us back to normal a lot faster than getting up close unprotected will.

I'm running Stonehell Dungeon for my in-person gaming group (I know, right after I complain about other people being incautious; we're pretty conscientious about it, though) and playing in Savage World of Solomon Kane and Rolemaster with that group. I've also got a Roll20 group that is playing Call of Cthulhu. I've been really missing GURPS, though. Hm, that's what I should do with my fantasy setting, maybe. I should learn how to use GURPS on Roll20.

How about yourself? Getting any fishing in?

    3. Sorry to hear about the kidney stone. I have been told that those are extremely painful. Yikes! No worries about gaming in person. People are only human and the cure can't be worse than the disease. Heading into colder, darker months, I think human contact is really important.

As for me, I have not been spending a lot of time at the beach. The lockdown in LA is still rather unpleasant, so I think I have been retreating deeper into a shell of piano and guitar. The distance teaching has been quite challenging.

It has been fun to reflect on the evolving political madness via these installments, though. Well, maybe not so much fun, but intriguing.

      I, too, miss GURPS.

  2. In early January Poppy also released a song that in hindsight really seems to have predicted what would follow in 2020... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yeRuFdgrwuY

    2. I didn't know this Poppy before. Wow. She is creepy and unsettling, but interesting.
