I found some sheets of cardboard in the supply closet at school. Yesterday and today during my lunch break I experimented with some terrain. I will not paint this; I like the understated look. I think I will build a few more and have myself a nice cardboard combat village.
In other news, here's the view from Gath Angeles.
That looks fantastic. And I agree that not painting it is the way to go.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like it. :)
DeleteDo you have a recommendation for a rules light minis wargame?
ReplyDeleteLOVE the cardboard house. I know he is wavinghis mace menacingly, but the Skellie by the ladder looks like he's raising his hand to wave hello to me. I love the almost cartoonish quality of the building, the handles on the shutter are uneven, the exaggerated door frames, it's just whimsical and light-hearted. Love it, love it!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! It does look like he's waving! I'm glad you liked the building. hen I saw the lopsided handles on the shutters I thought, "You know what, I like it!" If you do a google image search for cardboard city or cardboard favela, some really cool inspiration comes up. I had no idea cardboard cities were a thing in the art world. I just though it was wargame terrain. I want to draw drawing some skellie archers next, then other types of figures to do some squad level solo wargaming. :)
DeleteConsider looking at Original Edition Delta Book of War. I think Delta might be close to publishing his second edition, but the first edition works extremely well.
ReplyDeleteExcellent. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWhat are you looking for exactly? Genre? light skirmish? Etc??
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking squad level skirmish rules, perhaps? Genre, that's a toughie. Do they make generic rules? What's the system you like for the apes in the wasteland?
ReplyDeleteI use Zona ALfa for the apes game, although I added in the apes to the game. : )
