There's a lot swirling in my head with this one: The metal cylinders that provide food to the residents of Riverworld, the 2013 movie Elysium, Elon Musk and Planet of the Apes. Weird.
PS: Not to get too Live Journal-y here, but I am making another run at deleting my FB account. I made it almost 27 days into the 30 day deletion period, then the pandemic hit and there went that. Prior to going back to FB I was practicing piano and guitar about 17-18 hours a week. That has now fallen to about 5. And I'm stressed out of my mind. So, yeah. Day 1 of 30 until FB is gone. I can do this.
I still have facebook and I'm unlikely to get rid of it... especially during these isolated times.
ReplyDeleteYour posts about Gath inspired me to post something new on my gaming blog though. Maybe that'll become a thing again? Still not sure about turning the comments back on though. The discussion often didn't have much to do with the gaming content. :)
That monk class is awesome. Like the old episodes of Kung Fu, I can imagine a monk wandering the wasteland on a spiritual path, but occasionally having to put his fist through a skellie boy.
DeleteLoving the Gath posts! Strange Magic great Monk class! We need a "not-David Carridine" Monk wandering the wastes of Gath!
ReplyDeleteChristian, when I get time I want to run some Gath using the OSE system.
Thank you, Bill. A few years ago you sent me the Apes Victorious supplement and it got me to thinking about more advanced Pure Strain Humans (to use an old Gamma World term) dropping down from the heavens to survey the waste. I have heard good things about OSE. I need to see about ordering a hard copy.
DeleteThat's right I had forgotten about that! : )
DeleteOSE is great, I was having a blast with my face to face OSE campaign before the Coronavirus hit. Anyways, the print versions are delayed due to..well you know. But the PDFs are available. I highly recommend OSE, it has Ascending/Descending AC options for whichever you prefer. I think Gath would work perfectly with it. My group has some people that had only played 5E before, and many after playing OSE are in no hurry to go back to 5E.
I love that there are people survive in space, great addition!
ReplyDeleteOn FB I do not have the ability on my phone, this forces me to open a browser to check, a task I've found that causes me to check in only once or twice a day... And keep my sanity.
The only thing missing are mutants with psionics worshipping nuclear reactors, but it's coming!
DeleteI did laugh out loud at "SS Malcolm Gladwell". It sure hit its own tipping point.
ReplyDeleteI had recently watched a Ted Talk of his, so the name was on my mind and it seemed fitting. :)
