Hi John, I'm 34 pages in and so far I like it. I've been reading some really awful books lately, so this one is promising. What's kind of neat is that the characters, who are members of a planetary survey crew, are quite diverse. There are brawny heavy worlders, slow communicating - yet brilliant - rock people, hyper bird men, etc. I hope it stays good. :)
Exactly! There's a mutiny at the end with the Heavy Worlders "going native" and eating animals. I just finished it. The build-up to the mutiny was so slow. Oh, goodness I was hoping a dinosaur would finally show up and start eating people. Alas, no dinosaur.

I remember reading this one, definitely some interesting characters. The dietary conflicts were interesting if I recall...
