I don't know what it is about playing Catan, but I suck at it. I don't just loose, I get squished.
It's the kind of game that lends itself to that, it seems. I was pretty lucky in that I was able to land myself on good hexes and a port that allowed me to do 3:1 trades on anything, allowing me to build cities like a loon. All those hexes had me wondering where the wandering monsters were, though.
Hmm. I am unfamiliar with either of those games.Fortunately, "Google" is my friend. LOL
I think you would like both games. Very fun to play. :)
Love Catan, and Kill Dr. Lucky is simple to learn and play, but very fun. Never played munchkin, but considering its Steve Jacksons Games money maker these days it must be pretty good.
Munchkin is pretty fun. It's definitely one of those games where much of the fun is derived from jamming up your friends. Back-stabbery abounds! I am really looking forward to killing Dr. Lucky and his annoying dog, too.
Kill Dr. Lucky and it's counterpart, SAVE Dr. Lucky are very fun. Easy to learn and play variations on Clue, effectively. However, many options for backstabbery. =)
I've never played Catan, but I've heard tons of good things about it.
I think you'd like it. It's weird how your chess mind gives you a good feel for boardgames, strategy, tactics and when to make timely sacrifices.
